Rant: Lil B
I just tried to watch some You Tube Clips of Lil B "The Based God." It made me angry...this is the worst "hip-hop" I have ever seen, worse than Flocka and any other ignorance. I'm just completely confused by this music. I don't even know if anyone can explain this to me. Its horrible. I don't want to post a link, so if you are interested, do a search. :)
Moschino
When I was in high school, I had crush on this guy who wore alot of Moschino (wonder if he saved it, i would probably be vintage now). Not sure who this is in the pic, but I love black and gold.

MAKE NO!SE X FILA
In the second edition of Make No!se the violinist/barber Dannon Cook is featured. The product support is provided by FILA, with photography by Chris Carr, and video by Opiyo Okeyo. This project showcases Cook's talent as a skilled barber and an accomplished violinist. That's a really cool contrast. For more info click here

Happy Festivus!!!
Frank Costanza: "Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way."
Kramer: "What happened to the doll?"
Frank Costanza: "It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born: a Festivus for the rest of us!"
Kramer: "That must have been some kind of doll."
Frank Costanza: "She was."

"When everything is good, maybe I think it’s the time to do something else." -Carine Roitfeld
Im still shocked at Friday's news that Carine Roitfeld has decided to step down as the Editor of French Vogue. She is by far my favorite Editor, and fashion show staple. She clearly makes her own rules and is a woman of extreme confidence and poise.

One of her memorable Vogue covers.

Whatever Happened to Hood Movie Soundtracks?
Classic Hood Movie Soundtracks... in no particular order (although Above the Rim is the best..of all time, of all time)

2. Menace II Society
3. Boyz in the Hood
4. Juice
5. Sunset Park
6. Dont be a Menace
7. New Jack City
8. Friday
9. New Jersey Drive
10. Poetic Justice
I know I have to be missing some others. Nowadays, the soundtracks suck worse than the movies..and thats saying alot. Here are some gems from classic hood movies after the jump.

Vashtie Interviewed for WWD Magazine
I'm a bit Vashtie obsessed (well more than a bit). Of of women in my generation that I admire, shes at the top of the list. Here are a few excerpts from her interview with WWD magazine (via High Snobette).
Here, the New York native talks about her obsession with the 1990s, fashion icons and who she’s following on Twitter.
Twitter feed of choice: Conan O’Brien. “He’s ridiculously funny.”
Favorite fashion era: The 1990s. “When I was growing up, everything my older brother and sister did was so cool. There were so many trends starting, from hip-hop to grunge.”
Trend I wish would go away: “Studs and spikes on everything.”
Style icons: Madonna, Neneh Cherry, Lady Miss Kier of Deee-Lite and Kelly Bundy [from “Married ... with Children”]
Best places to shop: Opening Ceremony and vintage stores in New York. “I do a lot of vintage shopping, but I don’t want to [divulge] my spots.”
I never leave home without … A camera. “I always feel like there’s something I’ll pass by that I’ll want to take a picture of, or a moment that I’ll want to capture.”
Trend I wish would come back: “I’d like to see the Prince era come back. Something really different, like a guy with a perm wearing a Shakespeare shirt.”
Actress I’d want to play me in a movie: Zoe Saldana
I unwind by … Watching “America’s Next Top Model.” “I’m not big on reality TV shows, but I watch that one religiously.”
